Bolingbrook Building Code Advantage
Unlike some neighboring cities, the Village of Bolingbrook does require a building permit for roof replacement, and it's a real process — contractors must be registered with the Village (with a $20,000 surety bond), inspections need to be scheduled at least 3 business days in advance with the Building Division at (630) 226-8470, and Bolingbrook follows the 2021 IBC, 2021 IRC, and 2020 NEC.

The permit and inspection process exists to protect you — and because the IRC sets minimum standards for matching, deck condition, ice-and-water shield, and ventilation, an honest re-roof often can't be done as a partial repair without violating code.
